Saturday "crash courses" are a great way to learn something quick and hands-on, and there are only two students per class.

LEARNING OPTIONS:

  1. Take a class from the schedule.
  2. Create your own class. Call with a class you would like to take and a Saturday that is good for you. We will add it to the schedule.

Saturday Crash Courses are offered at:

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

NOTE: Bring a CD or jump drive to class if you would like to save your work to take home. CDs are available in class for $2.

From the Beginning: This beginner-level class discusses computer terminology and definitions; teaches navigation skills with the mouse, keyboard, and menus; creates a Microsoft Word document that is saved, edited, located, and formatted.

Create a website with Microsoft FrontPage: Design a simple website using text, pictures, tables, bookmarks, hyperlinks, and shared borders.

Editing in Microsoft Word: Write a letter, design an itinerary, and create an outline. This class will focus on the editing of information - cut, copy, move, and paste text; adjust margins; work with tabs; and format font types and sizes.

Get a Job: Create a resume and cover letter. Use the Internet to search for jobs and apply for them on-line. Bring your job history, education and references to class.

Microsoft Excel: Gain the skills employers are looking for. Create a spreadsheet from scratch, using rows and columns to sort and filter data. Design formulas to automate common calculations. Use the spreadsheet data in a Mail Merge to send form letters and envelopes.

MS Word, Beginner: Type a list, a letter, and an announcement. Use formatting tools to adjust margins, tabs, fonts, and paragraph styles. Save to disk.

MS Word, Intermediate: Create a user's manual. Use headers/footers, section breaks, graphics, and captions. Insert a Table of Contents and index.

PhotoShop: Use this software to edit and enhance photos.

Working with Word and Excel: This class will focus on the business use of Microsoft Word and Excel. We will create documentation in Word and spreadsheets with formulas in Excel. We will integrate these two applications to share information.
